My Gimlet and Variations

Here are just a few drinks for my gin drinkers…

Quick and Easy Gimlet:

2 Shots Gin (Pref. St. George Terroir or Hendricks)

1/2 Shot Lime Juice with a splash of simple syrup.

Shake in a shaker with lots of ice and serve straight up in a martini glass or on the rocks, with a cucumber or a lime twist.

Strawberry Gimlet

In your shaker, mix a simple gimlet, but muddle 3-4 strawberries with the lime juice first. Strain and serve with a lime wedge and small berry.

Spicy Cucumber Gimlet

2 Shots Gin (Hendricks works best here)

Juice of 1 Lime

Splash of Simple Syrup

2-3 Jalepeño Slices

2-3 Cucumber Slices

A Few Sprigs of Mint

Q Ginger Beer

In your cocktail shaker, muddle the jalepeño, cucumber, mint, and lime juice. Add Gin and syrup and shake over ice vigorously. Serve on the rocks and add ginger beer to fill.

BONUS! Shortcuts!

What I’ve found to work better than syrups is frozen mixes. For a quick gimlet, in place of the lime and syrup, simply add a spoon of frozen limeade concentrate. Or, to make this pretty pink drink, mix vodka with a spoon of frozen pink lemonade.

Cheers!
